12/13/2016
Kyle Hupfer, ’98, has been recommended to take over as Indiana Republican Party chair. Governor-elect Eric Holcomb has asked party leadership to consider Hupfer’s nomination at a caucus on February 1.
Hupfer is the party’s 5th District chair and served as treasurer of Holcomb’s campaign committee, and is co-chair of the transition team. Hupfer is chief administrative officer and general counsel of Indiana Mills & Manufacturing, Inc. He served as director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in then-Governor Mitch Daniels’ administration, and as chair of the Indiana State Fair Commission.
If approved, Hupfer would take over for Jeff Cardwell, who will resign on January 21, following the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence, ’86.
