Susan Brooks, '85, Named to Leadership of Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues

Susan Brooks, ’85, has been selected to co-chair the Congressional Caucus for Women’s Issues. The bipartisan group was created in 1977 and continues to discuss and promote issues of importance to women.
Brooks is in her second term representing Indiana’s 5th District; she was elected in 2012. She serves on the Energy and Commerce, Ethics, and Select Benghazi committees. In the next Congress, she will chair the Ethics Committee. She has been an advocate of improving access to health care and education.
Brooks has served as senior vice president and general counsel at Ivy Tech Community College, as the U.S. Attorney for Indiana’s Southern District, and as a deputy mayor of Indianapolis. Her legal practice includes stints in the government services practice group at the Indianapolis office of Ice Miller, and as a criminal defense attorney at the Indianapolis firm McClure McClure & Kammen. In addition, she is a member of IU McKinney’s Board of Visitors.
