S.J.D. Candidate Ahmed Altawyan Presents at Harvard

IU McKinney S.J.D. candidate Ahmed Altawyan presented his paper titled "Arbitral Awards Under the New Saudi Laws and International Rules Challenges and Possible Modernization" during the 4th Academic International Conference on Interdisciplinary Legal Studies at Harvard University in November 2016.
Altawyan serves as law lecturer at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. He has been invited to various national and international conferences in the U.S. and Malaysia to present papers on different aspects of commercial arbitration, international law, Islamic sharia, and Saudi law. His presentations and publications cover a wide variety of legal topics. His article titled “Revisiting Gender Equality in the Workplace” will be published in the SIBR Conference Proceedings (ISSN: 2223-5078) and Review of Integrative Business and Economics Research (ISSN: 2414-6722).
His publications and presentations include:
- “Evaluation Saudi Competent Court Supervision and Assistance During the Arbitration Process in Light of the International Arbitration Rules,” presented at the 2016 Politics, Law and Public Policy conference in San Francisco in November 2016.
- “The Legal System of the Saudi Judiciary and the Possible Effects on Reinforcement and Enforcement of Commercial Arbitration” at the International Conference on Social Science, Literature, Economics and Education in San Francisco in December 2016. This paper was published by the Canadian International Journal of Social Science and Education.
- “The Arbitral Proceedings Under the New Saudi Arbitration: A comparison with international rules” at Academic OASIS/IAABR – KEY WEST International Multidisciplinary Academic Conferences January 4-7. This paper was published by the Journal of Strategic and International Studies.
- “Saudi Law as an applicable law in the international commercial arbitration agreement challenges and possible solutions” at Academic OASIS/IAABR KEY WEST International Academic Conference January 4-7. It was published by the Journal of Advancements in Applied Business Research.
- Altawyan has been invited to present on the topic “Revisiting Islamic Sharia as Law, Thought and Practice” at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas March 14. This paper was accepted for publication by the International Journal of Arts & Sciences.
