Judge Terry Ruckriegle, '73, to Be Honored by National Judicial College

Colorado District Court Judge Terry Ruckriegle, ’73, will be honored with the Advancement of Justice Award by the National Judicial College (NJC). He will receive the honor from the NJC Board of Trustees at a dinner in April.
Judge Ruckriegle was appointed to the District Court in August of 1984 and has been the chief judge since 1994. He has been involved with the American Bar Association since 1995. He also served as a member of the ABA’s House of Delegates beginning in 2002. He gained national attention in 2003, when he served as the judge of the basketball star Kobe Bryant’s sexual assault case. He has attended 16 courses and taught six at the NJC.
The award is presented by the NJC to honor exceptional individuals and entities who exemplify dedication to the advancement of judicial excellence. Recipients give their time and talent to create or participate in community outreach services.
