IU McKinney Alumni Among Those Under Consideration for Indiana Supreme Court

Of the 21 attorneys and judges who have applied to succeed Justice Robert Rucker on the Indiana Supreme Court, seven are alumni of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
The IU McKinney graduates under consideration are:
- Stephen R. Creason, ’00, Chief Counsel at the Office of the Indiana Attorney General in Indianapolis
- Ralph Dowling, ’93, Dowling Law Office in Muncie
- Judge Peter Foley, ’97, Morgan Superior Court 1 in Martinsville
- Judge Maria Granger, ’94, Floyd Superior Court 3 in New Albany
- Leslie Henderzahs, ’90, Church Church Hittle & Antrim in Noblesville
- Indiana Representative Thomas Washburne, ’90, Old National Bancorp in Evansville
- Leanna Weissmann, ’94, Lawrenceburg
Justice Rucker will retire later this spring after 26 years on the bench. Initial interviews are scheduled for March 20 through 22, with a second round of interviews slated for April 17 through 19. Interviews are open to the public and will take place in the Indiana Statehouse, Room 319. The Judicial Nominating Commission will vote to send the three most-qualified named to Governor Eric Holcomb, who will determine the next justice.
