IU McKinney Student Luis Hernandez Receives Bose McKinney & Evans Diversity Fellowship

Luis Hernandez, a 1L at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, has been awarded the Bose McKinney & Evans 2017 Diversity Fellowship. Hernandez will begin his fellowship during Summer 2017 by serving as an intern.
Bose McKinney & Evans will provide Hernandez a $5,000 scholarship, along with the opportunity for a second summer internship and scholarship in 2018. In addition, one of the firm’s attorneys will mentor Hernandez throughout the fellowship. Hernandez will be eligible for an associate position at Bose McKinney & Evans after graduation from law school and the successful completion of the fellowship.
As a student at Indiana University South Bend, Hernandez majored in political science and philosophy. After graduating in 2012, he became owner and CEO of Winston Housing LLC, a residential property management company. Hernandez began his studies at IU McKinney in Fall 2016, and was an Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunity fellow. He worked as a summer/winter associate at Monterrosa Law Group in South Bend, Indiana.
The Bose McKinney & Evans Diversity Fellowship was first awarded in 2015 with a goal to assist first-year law students from historically under represented backgrounds at IU McKinney who are committed to meaningful support of increasing diversity and inclusion efforts in the legal profession. To be considered for the fellowship, students must be enrolled IU McKinney’s J.D. program and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average throughout the fellowship.
