03/31/2017
Professor Xuan-Thao Nguyen has been nominated to become a fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (ACCFL). She will be inducted as a fellow at the ACCFL’s annual meeting in New Orleans on April 8. This is the same group that presented her with the prestigious Grant Gilmore Award for her scholarship in April 2016.
“After receiving the Grant Gilmore Award last year, I never dreamed that I would be nominated to become a Fellow at the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers,” Professor Nguyen said. “I am so humbled and grateful for the honor.”
Founded in the early 1990s, the ACCFL honors commercial finance lawyers who are excellent practitioners and have contributed to the profession. The group is dedicated to promoting the field of commercial finance law through education, legislative reform, and the recognition of distinguished practitioners, jurists, and academics.
Professor Nguyen holds the Gerald L. Bepko Chair in Law, and is the director of the IU McKinney Center for Intellectual Property Law and Innovation. She is an internationally recognized legal scholar, known for her expertise at the intersections of intellectual property, secured transactions, bankruptcy, licensing, and taxation.
