'History with Hagan' Leads IU McKinney Women's Caucus Auction Winners on Tour of Indianapolis Catacombs
04/20/2017
Six IU McKinney students won a tour of the catacombs underneath the Indianapolis City Market in a “History with Hagan” event that was part of the Women’s Caucus Auction. After the private tour, the students and Professor Carrie Hagan enjoyed the fare at St. Joseph Brewery, which is a former church that has been turned into a brewpub.
“Who says first-year property can’t be fun?” Professor Hagan said. The tour took place on April 8, and was arranged by Indianapolis Landmarks. The tour was led by retired Indianapolis attorney Eric Manterfield.
“In past years I’ve always tried to offer something a little different,” she said, “but this year I was inspired by my property class subject matter and thought that it would be a great idea to learn a little more about our city. With the help of Indiana Landmarks we were able to go on a great tour, learn some urban planning city history and learn about some of the legal cases resulting from the changes over time involving the market.”
