Professor Schumm, '98, Comments on Indiana Supreme Court Vacancy for Nuvo
04/21/2017
Professor Joel Schumm, ’98, discussed the three nominees for the upcoming vacancy on the Indiana Supreme Court with Nuvo. The story was published April 20.
Justice Robert Rucker will retire from the high court May 12. The Judicial Nominating Commission has selected Clark Circuit Judge Vicki Carmichael, Wabash Superior Judge Christopher Goff and Boone Superior Judge Matthew Kincaid as finalists, and forwarded those names on to Governor Eric Holcomb for his selection.
“I think all three of the finalists are very well qualified. The governor can’t go wrong in selecting any one of the three,” Professor Schumm said in the story. “They have distinguished backgrounds as trial judges and as lawyers before that.”
Professor Schumm, a manga cum laude graduate of IU McKinney, is a clinical professor of law and Director of Experiential Learning. He also directs the IU McKinney Appellate Clinic, and the Judicial Externship Program.
