Indianapolis, and its neighbor to the north, Carmel, Indiana, have been rated as top places to live by Conde Nast Traveler, Realtor.com, and Niche.com.

Carmel was ranked as the number one place to live in the United States based on crime, public schools, cost of living, job opportunities, and local amenities. The website Niche.com named it as its 2017 Best Place to Live in America. The list includes 25 cities across the U.S. Fishers, Indiana, also made the list at number 16.

Indianapolis logged the number three slot on Conde Nast Traveler’s list of cities to watch in 2017. The magazine makes much of the Indianapolis food scene and the popular bike-share program.

Indianapolis comes in at number two on Realtor.com’s Top 10 Cities Where Downtown is Making a Comeback. The website notes that the city’s Cultural Trail loops around all of downtown’s amenities, and that the trail has made the city eminently walkable.
