Jennifer Mertz, ’98, will become chief legal counsel for Indiana Senate Republicans in July. She will take on that role when Jeff Papa,’99, leaves his government post for private practice.

Mertz has held various jobs in the Senate, where she currently is principal secretary and deputy chief legal counsel for the Senate Majority Caucus. She will take on her new responsibilities when Papa leaves his position as Indiana Senate chief of staff and chief legal counsel to practice immigration law at Barnes & Thornburg.
