Professor Terry Writes on Amazon's Possible Entrance into Healthcare for Medium

Professor Nicolas Terry has written a piece titled, “Prime Health: Should Amazon Purchase a Hospital Chain?” for the website “Medium.” The column was published July 30.
Recent speculation about Amazon’s alleged secret health care team with the codename “1492” promoted some to speculate that the digital giant was gearing up for a push into digital heath, according to the story. Professor Terry poses the interesting question regarding whether Amazon may in fact be contemplating purchasing a hospital chain.
Professor Terry is the Hall Render Professor of Law and executive director of the Hall Center for Law and Health. He is a member of the Health IT Consumer Workgroup. His research interests lie primarily at the intersection of medicine, law, and information technology. His recent scholarship has dealt with health privacy, social media and health, big data, and health care fragmentation. He started the podcast, “The Week in Health Law” with Professor Frank Pasquale of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
