Professors Roisman and Waterhouse Join Alumni in Presenting at Human Rights Conference

IU McKinney professors joined McKinney alumni at the 44th Annual Indiana Consortium of State and Local Human Rights Agencies Training Conference on August 23 in Indianapolis.
Professor Carlton Waterhouse (left) served on the conference’s plenary session, titled “Indianapolis Civil Rights Movement: Where Do We Go From Here.” Professor Florence Wagman Roisman provided a legal update to attendees.
IU McKinney graduate Doneisha Posey, '14 moderated the panel with Professor Waterhouse. Nikki Quintana, '10, Executive Director of the Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Rights Commission, also presented, as did immigration attorney Angela D. Adams, '04.
Professor Roisman is William F. Harvey Professor of Law. The focus of her practice, teaching, and writing has been on low-income housing, homelessness, and housing discrimination and segregation. Professor Roisman also supervises an externship with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Indiana and has supervised a homeless assistance externship as well.
Professor Waterhouse serves as the Director of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law Environmental, Energy and Natural Resources Law Program. He is an international expert on environmental law and environmental justice as well as reparations and redress for historic injustices.
