Hispanic Law Society Statement on DACA Published in 'Indianapolis Star'
09/08/2017
The Hispanic Law Society at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law made a statement regarding President Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The statement was published in the Letters to the Editor section of the Indianapolis Star on September 7.
The Hispanic Law Society statement quotes Robert F. Kennedy, who said “Our attitude towards immigration reflects our faith in the American ideal. We have always believed it possible for men and women who start at the bottom to rise as far as the talent and energy allow. Neither race nor place of birth should affect their chances.”
