10/18/2017
Brent Dickson, ’68, former Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice, has been named to an 11-member committee that will determine what the state will do with its portion of the nearly $41 million share of the Volkswagen settlement. A story on the committee and the settlement appeared in the Indianapolis Star.
The Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund Committee will create a plan that demonstrates how it will spend the money; a small group of uses is eligible for the funds. The funds will be administered by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
Justice Dickson served in private practice for 17 years before he was appointed to the bench in 1986. He was Indiana’s chief justice from May 15, 2012, until August 18, 2014, and he has served as an adjunct professor at the law school for over 10 years.
