Winners of Staton Intramural Moot Named at IU McKinney

The Honorable Robert H. Staton Intramural Moot Court Competition concluded on November 8 at the Indiana Supreme Court with the competition’s championship round.
Judges for the final round were Justice Steven H. David, ’82, of the Indiana Supreme Court; Judge Margret G. Robb, ’78, of the Indiana Court of Appeals; Magistrate Geoffrey Gaither of the Marion Superior Court Juvenile Division; Kenneth J. Falk, Legal Director of the ACLU of Indiana; and Maggie L. Smith, appellate practitioner from the law firm of Frost Brown Todd.
In a close round, Elizabeth Hyde and Ryan Shouse were declared Staton Competition champions, prevailing over runners-up Kailey Ruggiero and Jeff Parker.
Ryan Shouse captured the Christopher M. Maine Advocacy Award, which is presented to the best oralist in the championship round.
Elizabeth Hyde won the Mitzi H. Martin Moot Court Award, which is given to the best oralist in the Staton Competition preliminary rounds.
Zachary Griffin won the Best Brief Award.
