John Krauss, '76, Named to the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission

John Krauss, '76, has been appointed to the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, where he will serve as chair pro tempore. Krauss was appointed to the post by Governor Eric Holcomb.
The commission regulates the manufacture, sale, possession, and use of alcoholic beverages in the state, among other duties. Krauss' term expires January 31, 2022.
Among other service opportunities he accepted of late, Krauss was elected vice chair of the Arthur Jordan Foundation in Indianapolis. His two-year term in that post began in May 2017. The foundation gives grants in the areas of arts and education, and historic landmarks.
Krauss is senior advisor to the IUPUI Chancellor, and is clinical professor emeritus of Public and Environmental Affairs. He also teaches public policy mediation and conflict resolution as an adjunct professor at IU McKinney. He founded the Public Policy Institute at Indiana University in 2008, retiring from his position as director there in 2014. He also has served as a Deputy Mayor for the City of Indianapolis.
