Six Members of the 2018 ISBA Leadership Development Academy are IU McKinney Alumni

Six graduates of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law are a part of the class of 25 lawyers who will take part in the Indiana State Bar Association's Leadership Development Academy.
IU McKinney grads who are members of the 2018 Leadership Development Academy are:
- Rebecca J. Berfanger, '15, Indianapolis, Giles & Berfanger Law
- Alexandria M. Hanauer, '16, Indianapolis, Indiana Supreme Court
- John A. Henry, '13 Indianapolis, Indiana Education Employment Relations Board
- Sarah A. Hurdle, '16, Indianapolis, Kightlinger & Gray
- Alex R. Whitted, '12, Columbus, Whitted Law
- Allyse E. Wirkkala, '13, Indianapolis, Marion County Public Defender Agency
All of the lawyers chosen for the program, which is entering its seventh year, are accomplished legal practitioners who have been admitted to practice for less than 15 years. The academy is a statewide leadership program established to empower and develop lawyers to be informed, committed and involved so that they may fill significant leadership roles in local and state bar associations, local communities and organizations and to serve as role models in matters of ethics and professionalism.
The group will participate in five sessions featuring professional facilitators and prominent speakers from various disciplines to inform participants about leadership principles and techniques, the importance of effective leaders in organizations to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, and the challenges and rewards of leadership in action.
