Professor Nguyen Conducts Training for Cambodian Legal Professionals

Professor Xuan-Thao Nguyen conducted training workshops for legal professionals in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, December 25-28. It was the first training for judges on secured transactions law in the nation.
The workshop was attended by 36 appellate judges, 30 prosecutors, and officers from the Cambodia Ministry of Justice, the Royal Academy of Judicial Professions, Ministry of Commerce, and banks from across the nation.
"It was an honor to be the key speaker and trainer for each of the four days," Professor Nguyen said of the experience.

Professor Nguyen holds the Gerald L. Bepko Chair in Law, and is the director of the IU McKinney Center for Intellectual Property Law and Innovation. She is an internationally recognized legal scholar, known for her expertise at the intersections of intellectual property, secured transactions, bankruptcy, licensing, and taxation. She was named a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers in March 2017. Her latest book, The Intellectual Property Holding Company: Tax Use and Abuse from Victoria's Secret to Apple, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2017.
