IU McKinney Welcomes Attorney Ellen Krug for Talk on "Gray Area Thinking"
02/09/2018
Ellen Krug visited IU McKinney on February 8 to talk about "Gray Area Thinking: Helping Legal Professionals Understand Transgender Persons." Her talk was sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs, the Diversity Committee, and the Lambda Law Society.
Krug was a civil trial attorney in her native Iowa who had tried more than 100 cases before transitioning from male to female in 2009. She later became one of the few attorneys nationally to try jury cases in separate genders. In 2016, Advocate Magazine named Krug one of the "25 Legal Advocates Fighting for Trans Rights." She wrote about her visit to IU McKinney in her blog.
