The IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law recognized the Honorable Carr L. Darden, '70, and Mrs. Lundy M. Darden for their generosity and support of the law school at the annual IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon and Awards Ceremony on April 3, 2018.
Judge and Mrs. Darden endowed the Judge Carr L. Darden and Mrs. Lundy M. Darden Public Sector Legal Education Scholarship, supporting underrepresented populations of McKinney Law students interested in state or local government.
Married for more than 60 years, Judge and Mrs. Darden are deeply involved with their church, their community, and the McKinney Law family.
Judge Darden served on the Indiana Court of Appeals from 1994 until his retirement in 2012, when he was appointed senior judge by the Indiana Supreme Court. He serves on the law school Board of Visitors. Judge Darden is also a 1966 graduate of the IU Kelley School of Business.
Every year since 1989, the IUPUI campus has come together for the Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon and Awards Ceremony. The event honors the individuals, corporations, and foundations that have contributed to IUPUI programs through gifts and voluntary services.
