06/22/2018
Mauricio Videla, '12, was chosen by the American Bar Association's Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession to take part in the 2018 Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy. The event will take place June 24-26 at the law firm of Greenburg Traurig in Miami.
The academy's goal is to strengthen the pipeline of diverse leaders by providing leadership training and professional development programs to benefit current leaders, the bar associations, and the legal profession as a whole.
"As a member of this year’s cohort, I’ll enhance the skills necessary for organizing, operating, and leading local and national bar associations; absorb leadership advice from senior attorneys; and network with leaders from multiple national bar associations," Videla said.
Videla was named a Top Lawyer Under 40 for 2018 by the Hispanic National Bar Association in February. He is an attorney and federal commissioned bank examiner with the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He is a leader in the American Bar Association's Business Law Section where he currently serves as vice chair of the Young Lawyer Committee and as a young lawyer liaison to the Consumer Financial Services Committee. He also has served on the national board of directors of La Unidad Latina, Inc., and has been a program advisor and speaker for the Council on Legal education Opportunity.
