The past year has been a challenging and rewarding one for recent IU McKinney Law graduate Brenden R. Macy, ’18. Not only did he graduate from law school and pass the bar exam, he also moved to Colorado in June, unfortunately losing everything he and his wife owned in a moving truck fire along the way. When that tragedy struck, fellow students, faculty, staff and alumni at IU McKinney sent the couple help, for which Macy says they are very grateful.
Macy is currently working as Commercial Counsel for SambaSafety, a driver risk monitoring software company. He also had an article published by the ABA: “International Licensing of Entertainment Products,” Entertainment and Sports Lawyer (a publication of the ABA Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries) (Volume 34 Issue 4, Pages 23-33).
The Columbia City, Indiana, native holds a B.A. from Anderson University (2010), and while in law school he successfully completed Graduate Certificates in Corporate and Commercial Law, as well as Intellectual Property Law.
Macy says, “During my time at McKinney I was fortunate enough to find myself a pupil of Professors Nehf, (now Dean) Pitts, Nguyen, Shaver, Rose, Faber, and Bennardo, and I am thankful for their guidance and expertise.”
