Eric David, '18, was chosen to take part in Renmin University of China Law School's Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team. The team placed third overall in the Oral Rounds, and won the top prize for Best Memorandum at a Pre Moot competition in late November in Beijing.
"The faculty at Renda was thrilled as this was the best result the school has had in 10 years," David said.
In the photo, David is shown at the center of the group as the team poses with their prize. Teams who qualify for the Vis Moot will compete in Vienna, Austria, in April.
David is a Master of Laws student at Renmin; the second IU McKinney alumnus to receive the Bilateral Chinese Government Scholarship from Renmin. The scholarship is for IU McKinney graduates who want to pursue a Master of Laws degree in Chinese Law. Renmin created the scholarship in 2017 to commemorate the longstanding cooperation and friendship between Renmin and IU McKinney.
