Judge Lynch, '96, Will Speak at Diversity Dinner
01/29/2019
Judge Sheryl Lynch, '96, of the Marion Circuit Court, will be the keynote speaker at the seventh annual Diversity Dinner. The event will take place March 1 at the Columbia Club in downtown Indianapolis. This year's theme is "Building and Sustaining Peaceful Progress without Division."
The event is hosted by the Black Law Students Association, Hispanic Law Society, and Asian Law Students Association, all of which are student groups at IU McKinney. These groups have won IU McKinney's Student Organization Award for Collaboration of the Year for their work on this event several years' running.
The dinner allows students, attorneys, faculty, staff, alumni, and others to connect and build relationships with individuals and groups that embrace and promote diversity.
Judge Lynch is the first African-American and first woman to be elected to the Marion Circuit Court, a post she won in 2014. An Indianapolis native, she completed her undergraduate studies at Indiana University in Bloomington before enrolling at IU McKinney.
