IU McKinney commemorated the beginning of the Year of the Pig with a Lunar New Year celebration on January 31 at Inlow Hall. Students, staff, and faculty gathered in the Student Lounge for food and music, and the opportunity to learn about the New Year traditions shared by fellow students.

Master of Laws students, in the photo from left, Minh Tu Tran, Thu Anh Doan, and Lily Pham, wore traditional costumes during the event. Director of Graduate Programs Miki Pike Hamstra invited everyone who wished to do so to talk about New Year traditions in their home countries, and many students took part.

Those at the celebration were treated to special music from Anh Long Duong, in the photo at right, an LL.M. student at IU McKinney.
