Television News Story Highlights Event at IU McKinney
02/20/2019
An event at IU McKinney, staged to specifically call attention to and celebrate the work of Black women at IU McKinney and in the community, took place February 16. A television news story on this second annual commemoration, featuring IU McKinney students Erika Bryant and Ariona Anderson, was broadcast on WISH TV.
Bryant and Anderson both believe that having such events, this one hosted by the Black Law Students Association and the Rollins Association for Culture and Education, will call attention to the change that is coming to the legal profession.
"I feel like it'll help change the faces of people in the legal field because right now it's a predominantly male field," Anderson said in the news story. "It's good to have women at the forefront."
Bryant said in the story that she believes the event will inspire more young women to climb to the top and shine.
"Young people want to see the next big thing and as black women we are the next big thing in so many ways," she said.
