Marya Rose, '90, Named to Board of Duke Energy

Marya Rose, '90, the Chief Administrative Officer of Cummins, Inc., has been named to the board of directors of Duke Energy. She will serve on the board's compensation, and regulatory policy-operations committees.
As part of the senior leadership team at Cummins, Rose is responsible for nine global functions including legal, communications, marketing, government relations, compliance, facilities, security, corporate responsibility, and the company's global shared services organization. She often serves as the public voice for the company on critical issues. Rose was named CAO in 2011, after serving as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for 10 years. In her tenure as General Counsel, Rose transformed the legal function from a U.S. organization to a global one with lawyers in China, India, Brazil, Mexico, Europe, Australia and Africa.
Prior to joining Cummins over 20 years ago, Rose served two Indiana Governors, and practiced law in Indianapolis. She serves in leadership positions on a number of not-for-profit boards including Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky; the IMA at Newfields; Hoosier Women Forward; and 16 Tech.
