Martha Hoover, '80, Honored by Women's Philanthropy Leadership Council

Martha Hoover, '80, was awarded the Women's Philanthropy Leadership Council Women Leading the Way Award at the Indianapolis Women’s Philanthropy Conference on February 19. The event took place at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis.
The award honors women associated with Indiana University for their extraordinary achievements in philanthropic work that improves their own communities and inspires others to act in service of positive change. Candidates must have made significant and lasting contributions of time, talent and/or treasure in ways that align with the council’s vision and values. Candidates should be locally, nationally and/or internationally recognized for their philanthropic leadership, and do not have to be an IU alum but should have some connection to one or more campuses of IU. Previous recipients include Marcela Rovzar, Maureen Hackett, Meryl Streep, Jane Chu, Martha Tilaar and Glenn Close.
Hoover is an acclaimed entrepreneur and restaurateur who is the founder and president of Patachou, Inc., Her collection of restaurants includes Café Patachou, Petite Chou Bistro, Napolese Pizzeria, Public Greens Urban Kitchen, and Bar One Fourteen. She created The Patachou Foundation in 2013 to feed healthy meals to food insecure children in Indianapolis. To date, the foundation has served over 100,000 such meals to children who live with pervasive food insecurity.
Hoover will be the keynote speaker during IU McKinney's commencement ceremony on May 9 at the Indiana Convention Center.
