Shariq Siddiqui, '05, Named Inaugural Director of Muslim Philanthropy Initiative
04/12/2019
Shariq Siddiqui has been named the director of the Muslim Philanthropy Initiative, which is part of the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI. The initiative will collaborate with the Mays Family Institute on Diverse Philanthropy to better understand how underrepresented people interact with philanthropy.
A story about Siddiqui, '05, appears in the April 11 issue of the Indianapolis Recorder. In addition to his law degree from IU McKinney, he holds a master of arts in philanthropic studies, and a doctor of philosophy in philanthropic studies from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, where he also teaches as an assistant professor.
"It's exciting in one way because it's unchartered territory," Siddiqui said in the story about his new post. "It also makes me nervous because you don't want to mess it up."
