IU McKinney Celebrates Award-Winning Student Organizations

The Office of Student Affairs at IU McKinney hosted the 7th annual Student Organization Awards to recognize and honor law student organizations, students, and advisors and the significant impact provided through service, programs, and activities. The event took place in the atrium at Inlow Hall on April 16.
The award for Student Organization of the Year went to the Black Law Students Association (BLSA). In the photo at left, from left, is Eric Hewlett, Shashan Deyoung, IU McKinney Dean Andrew R. Klein, and Lauren Ingram.
Best Collaboration of the Year honors were given to the organizers of the 7th annual Diversity Dinner: the Black Law Students Association, Hispanic Law Society, and Asian Law Students Association. In the photo at right, from left, are Hewlett, Erika Flores, and Samyoul Kim.
The honor for New Student Organization of the Year was given to the Veteran Law Student Association. In the photo at right, from left, are Senior Associate Director for Student Affairs Wende' Ferguson, and David Faulkner.

Honors for Best Service Project of the Year went to the Lambda Law Society for their Indiana Legal Services LGBTQ+ Intake Event, which took place at IU McKinney. In the photo at left, from left, are Associate Director for Student Affairs Julie Davis, and Trevor Oakerson.
And Trevor Oakerson was named Outstanding Student Leader of the Year. In the photo at right, from left, are Interim Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Chasity Thompson, '02, and Oakerson.
