IU McKinney Alumni Named to Leadership in Law Class of 2019

Twelve alumni of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law have been named to Indiana Lawyer's 2019 Leadership in Law class of honorees. Five alumni have been chosen in the Distinguished Barrister category, and seven are in the Up and Coming Lawyer category.
The Distinguished Barristers from IU McKinney are:
Jeffrey Abrams, '81, a partner at Taft Stettinius & Hollister in Indianapolis. Abrams represents banks and lending institutions, developers, landlords, tenants, builders, contractors, and all types of business owners. He is a member of the Indiana Golf Foundation, First Tee of Greater Indianapolis, and a former member of the board of directors of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
Norris Cunningham, '96, is a co-founding partner of Katz Korin Cunningham in Indianapolis. Cunningham leads the firm's healthcare practice, concentrating in dispute resolution including trial practice, regulatory advocacy, and arbitration. He was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, and Lt. Colonel in the Indiana Air National Guard.
John Hoard, '80, is a partner at Rubin Levin in Indianapolis. Hoard practices in creditor's rights, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. He is a member of the board of the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, and served as a member of the Indiana Crime Prevention Coalition, among other community endeavors.
Todd J. Kaiser, '86, is office managing shareholder at Ogletree Deakins in Indianapolis. Kaiser concentrates his practice in state and federal court litigation, class action defense, commercial litigation, and employment law.
Chief Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson, '83, of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Chief Judge Magnus-Stinson currently serves on the Defender Services Committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States Courts, the Seventh Circuit Criminal Pattern Jury Instructions Committee, the Seventh Circuit Advisory Committee on Rules, and the Seventh Circuit Committee on Supervised Release. She is a member of the Board of Visitors at IU McKinney.
The Up and Coming Lawyers from IU McKinney are:
Laruen Box, '15, an associate Barnes & Thornburg in Indianapolis. Box is a member of the government services and finance department at the law firm. She served as a program manager intern with the Indiana Department of Government Efficiency, and as an intern in the officer of then-Governor Mitch Daniels.
Neal Brackett, '13, an associate at Barnes Thornburg in Indianapolis. Brackett is a member of the litigation department, and white collar and investigation practice group. He is a magna cum laude graduate of IU McKinney.
Matthew Ehinger, '09, is a partner at Ice Miller in Indianapolis, where he practices in the tax group. He focuses on state and local tax planning, compliance, and controversy. A summa cum laude graduate of IU McKinney, he served as a legal intern for then-Governor Mitch Daniels and Lt. Governor Becky Skillman, then-Judge Sarah Evans Barker in the U.S. District Court, and as an extern in the legal department of Eli Lilly & Co.
Kelleigh Fagan, '13, is a partner at Church Church Hittle & Antrim in Noblesville. A summa cum laude graduate of IU McKinney, she serves in the business services and sports law practice groups. She is a member board of directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, and the board of directors of the University of Indianapolis Greyhound Club.
Carlton Martin, '12, is the staff attorney of the Indiana Conference on Legal Education Opportunity. He is a board member of Allegiant Preparatory Academy, and has served as a board member for Mid-North Food Pantry, as a Teen Court volunteer for Reach for Youth, as a Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, and as a mentor for M-Power Youth Mentoring Program.
Anna Rutigliano, '15, is an associate at Faegre Baker Daniels in Indianapolis. Rutigliano practices in complex litigation, including products liability, mass torts, class actions, and general business disputes. Her pro bono work includes representing clients seeking asylum status in the United States, and representing parents of disabled children in guardianship proceedings for the Eskenazi Medical-Legal Partnership.
Justin Swanson, '12, is of counsel at Bose McKinney & Evans in Indianapolis. He practices in the governmental services group, focusing on the administrative and economic needs of municipalities. Prior to joining the firm, he served as government affairs director and legislative counsel at Accelerate Indiana Municipalities, formerly known as the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns.
The honorees will be celebrated at a reception in downtown Indianapolis on May 8, and featured in a special publication of the Indiana Lawyer.
