Professor Mohapatra Discusses Abortion Cases for Indiana Lawyer
06/13/2019
Seema Mohapatra, Associate Professor of Law and Dean’s Fellow at the IU McKinney School of Law talked to The Indiana Lawyer for a June 12 story about new abortion cases and laws by state legislatures, noting that a new law in Missouri highlights an important piece of the ongoing abortion debate: Roe v. Wade doesn’t necessarily have to be overturned for abortion access to be limited.
“Chipping away” at abortion access will continue to happen as anti-abortion activists continue to work in legislatures and federal courts, Professor Mohapatra said.
Professor Mohapatra is an expert in the areas of health care law, public health law, bioethics, torts, and international health and family law. Her research interests include the intersection of biosciences and the law, assisted reproduction and surrogacy, international family and health law, health care disparities in the United States, and informed consent.
