10/22/2019
Professor Tom Wilson was invited to speak at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) on October 7 at a conference titled "A Challenge for Training New Lawyers for a Global Society." The topic is also the focus of the European Jurist Project, which Professor Wilson was invited to join in October 2018. That project is an initiative of the European Law Faculties Association and the European Law Institute, the goal of which is to train future lawyers to understand and appreciate the diversities inherent in different legal systems and to be able to function effectively in them.
The conference also featured Professor Liu Yi-Sheng, S.J.D. '18, LL.M. '13, of Providence University in Taichung City, Taiwan. Liu is an Assistant Professor of Law, Deputy Dean for International Affairs, and Director of Legal Analytics Laboratory at Providence.
Autonomous University of Barcelona became an affiliate of IU McKinney's Chinese Law Summer Program, which Professor Wilson directs, in Spring 2019.
