01/23/2020
Amy Karozos, '88, is the new Indiana State Public Defender, leading an office she worked for as a law student at IU McKinney. A story on her new post appears in Indiana Lawyer.
Karozos worked in the public defender's office for several years before moving to a nonprofit to train and offer technical help to those who work in juvenile justice. She also worked as a Marion County public defender in the juvenile division before returning to the office where she began her legal career after law school.
“We do a very good job of making sure people can get access to lawyers and get review and relief,” Karozos said in the story. “One of my goals is to continue the great work that they are doing, hopefully, and get to as many people as possible and get to more people.”
