Professor Quigley Writes about Columbus Doctor's COVID-19 Worries in Sojourners
03/25/2020
Dr. Amy Hale of Columbus, Indiana, has been sounding the alarm to everyone who will take her phone calls. She’s emphatic about stepping up the efforts to provide protective equipment to physicians treating patients that have contracted the COVID-19 virus. Professor Fran Quigley, ’87, published an article about her efforts, and the work she does at the VIMCare Clinic in Sojourners.
“If we are learning anything from our brothers and sisters overseas who have been dealing with this virus for months, it is that we can’t wait until the care crisis is all around us,” Dr. Hale told Professor Quigley for the story. “We need to be prepared before it happens.”
Professor Quigley teaches in the Health and Human Rights Clinic at IU McKinney. He is the author of Prescription for the People: An Activist's Guide to Making Medicine Affordable for All, published by Cornell University Press in 2017.
