Update to Professor Drobac's Text on Sexual Harassment Law Published
04/29/2020
An update to the text, Sexual Harassment Law: History, Cases and Practice by Professor Jennifer Drobac, has been published by Carolina Academic Press. She collaborated on the update of the 2005 edition of this work with Professor Carrie N. Baker of Smith College and Professor Rigel C. Oliveri of the University of Missouri School of Law.
“I am thrilled to present this new, completely revised edition. I invited Professor Baker and Professor Oliveri to join me because they each bring a wealth of experience, at the undergraduate and law school levels, in sexual harassment law, theory, and practice,” Professor Drobac said. “Together, we’ve made the book accessible to a broad audience. I also drafted a section on harassment in public and cyberharassment, which eerily anticipates the current COVID-19 increase in Zoom-bombing and other forms of cyber, sex-based harassment. At the end of each chapter, law and ethics problems based on my real-life practice experiences, help readers work through how they would handle actual disputes. We hope students and readers will find this text engaging and informative.”
The trio created a companion website for the book, which will link to their Sexual Harassment Law Facebook page. The authors will provide up-to-date news and articles regarding sexual harassment and related topics. Professor Drobac recently posted two articles that discuss sexual cyberharassment in the era of COVID-19.
Professor Drobac is at work on her next book, The Myth of Consent, which is under contract with Cambridge University Press. That work will explore the neuroscience of adult decision making and how the science should influence law reform, particularly the law of consent. She is a Samuel R. Rosen Professor of Law.
