Professor Terry Addresses SUD Patient Privacy during COVID-19 for Health Affairs Blog

IU McKinney Professor Nicolas Terry is co-author of a new post for Health Affairs blog that reviews current privacy rules for substance abuse disorder (SUD) patients in the COVID-19.
The post describes the existing state of health privacy rules, the current COVID-19 emergency provisions that create exceptions to those rules, and the statutory changes contained in the CARES Act of 2020.
Professor Terry wrote the piece with co-authors Professor Melissa M. Goldstein of the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University and Kirk Nahra, a partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in Washington D.C.
