09/14/2020
IU McKinney Associate Professor of Law Seema Mohapatra presented September 9 at a Georgia State University virtual event, “Health Care Access and the 2020 Elections.”
The event was part of the Fall 2020 Jean Beer Blumenfeld Center for Ethics series, examining access to health care and its impact on election policy and decisions.
She also presented a paper, “Law, Structural Racism and the COVID-19 Pandemic” to the American University Washington College of Law faculty on September 5.
The paper, co-authored with Ruqaiijah Yearby of the Saint Louis School of Law, is a forthcoming chapter in the Race and Racism Primer. The presentation was the first in American University’s virtual Faculty Speaker Series.
The presentation was praised as “outstanding,” by Angela Davis, Distinguished Professor of Law at American University Washington College of Law. “I urge you all to read the paper. Many thanks to Ruqaiijah and Seema for their outstanding work on this most important issue,” she wrote in an email to faculty.
