Seema Mohapatra, IU McKinney Associate Professor of Law, discussed the U.S. Senate confirmation hearings of U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett in an October 13 interview on WFTV-TV in Orlando, Florida.
Depending on the cases that come to the Supreme Court, if Judge Barrett is confirmed, the conservative majority on the court could have an impact on a number of issues, including the Affordable Care Act, civil rights and women’s reproductive rights, Professor Mohapatra said.
Professor Mohapatra is Deans Fellow and an expert in the areas of health care law, public health law, bioethics, torts, and international health and family law. Her research interests include the intersection of biosciences and the law, assisted reproduction and surrogacy, international family and health law, health care disparities in the United States, and informed consent.
