Julie Roe Lach, '04, Named Horizon League Commissioner

Julie Roe Lach, ’04, will serve as the next commissioner of the Indianapolis-based Horizon League. She will take over her new role in January 2021. She has served as deputy commissioner since 2014.
Roe Lach founded JRL Consulting, where she focused on placement advising and contract negotiations for clients seeking executive level jobs, strategic planning with conferences, compliance education and advising for institutions and head coaches, and leadership development for female administrators. Her firm merged with a law firm to create Church Church Hittle + Antrim Collegiate Consulting. Roe Lach continues to serve as managing principal and of counsel with the firm's sports law practice.
Prior to founding JRL Consulting, Roe Lach spent nearly 16 years at the NCAA, working her way from an intern to vice president of enforcement. As vice president, she restructured a department of 55 staff members after meeting with over 150 constituents to help identify key issues facing the national governing body. Roe Lach was a part of the group that initiated the overhauled penalty structure and process for adjudicating cases which was adopted by the membership in November 2012.
Roe Lach is a former First Team All-American and GTE Academic All-American women’s basketball player at Millikin University, where she is a trustee emeritus. She received an honorary doctorate from Millikin University in 2012. Roe Lach is a member of IU McKinney’s Board of Visitors.
