Kori Chambers, ’01, has been elected DTCI’s president. She is Associate General Counsel for IU Health’s Risk Retention Group and is the first in-house attorney to serve as president of the organization. Chambers founded DTCI’s Women in the Law Division. In-house attorneys are rare in DTCI’s membership and Chambers believes this is a potential area for growth in the organization, the story said.
John McCrum, ’81, has been named the 2020 Diplomat of the Indiana Defense Trial Council. He is a partner at Eichhorn & Eichhorn, and he was nominated by one of his partners in the law firm. He has nearly 40 years of service to the defense bar. A diplomat is someone who, according to DTCI, has distinguished himself throughout his career by outstanding contributions to the representation of clients in the defense of litigation matters.
Barath Raman, ’14, has been named DTCI’s Outstanding Young Lawyer for 2020. Raman is an associate at Lewis Wagner in Indianapolis, and he was nominated by one of the firm’s partners. In addition to his thriving legal practice, Raman co-founded Suited-up, a program that provides at-risk, economically disadvantaged college-bound students with dress attire and professional development support. He’s also co-president of Friends of Riley, a group of young professionals who raise funds for Riley Hospital for Children.
