Judge Andrew Heath, '06, Named North Carolina Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts

Judge Andrew Heath, ’06, has been named Director of the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts. He will be the point person to get the state’s courts up and running again after being closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A story about this appeared in Carolina Journal.
Judge Heath previously served at the state’s budget director. In his new role, he will manage the administrative services provided to the judicial branch’s more than 6,400 employees and 213 judicial facilities in every county, with a budget of roughly $550 million. His first task will be to get the courts back up to speed, and he’ll work with the General Assembly on budget proposals to resume and accelerate court functions while maintaining safety during the pandemic.
