Professor Nedeff, '83, Discusses Potential Charges in Mass Shooting Case with Indianapolis Star
01/27/2021
A juvenile has been arrested in connection with a mass shooting that killed five people and an unborn child in the early morning hours January 24. Professor Novella Nedeff, ’83, talked about potential charges the suspect could face for a story in the Indianapolis Star.
Because a pregnant woman was among those killed, prosecutors could seek six counts of murder under Indiana law, Professor Nedeff said in the story. Should the suspect be believed to be the person who shot the lone survivor of the incident, a charge of attempted murder also could be part of the indictment.
Professor Nedeff is a clinical professor of law and teaches in the Criminal Defense Clinic.
