Lauren Pena, '13, Named to Statewide Independent Living Council

Lauren Peña, ’13, has been appointed to the Indiana Statewide Independent Living Council by Governor Eric Holcomb.
“It is an honor and a privilege to be selected to serve on the council. It is so very important for individuals with disabilities to have a voice in matters that involve their ability to take part in and advocate for their communities,” Peña said. “I am looking forward to being a part of the disability justice change in Indiana.”
The council is a statewide advocacy organization directed and operated by Indiana leaders with disabilities. It works to empower members to lead and control their lives and leverage opportunities.
Peña is Associate Director of Student Recruitment at IU McKinney.
