Professor Edwards Appointed to IU ASEAN Board

Professor George Edwards has been appointed to serve on the IU ASEAN Gateway Office Faculty Advisory Board. This important new advisory group will help oversee the work of the IU ASEAN Gateway, which opened in Bangkok in February 2019.
The IU ASEAN Gateway helps build relationships with universities, institutes, NGOs, government, and businesses in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region, creating opportunities for research, partnerships, conferences, workshops, overseas study, and internships.
Professor Edwards is the Carl M. Gray Professor of Law at IU McKinney. He has been elected as Delegate to two Presidential National Conventions, and attended two others, and has worked on political campaigns at all levels, from local to the Presidential, including working at primaries and caucuses around the U.S., primarily on legal matters related to voter protection. He received Indiana University’s John W. Ryan Award for Distinguished Contributions to International Programs and Studies in January 2021, and the National Bar Association’s Sankofa Award in Summer 2020.
