Professor Edwards to Serve on 2021 Review Panel for Bantz Community Fellowship and Scholar Awards

Professor George Edwards has accepted an invitation to serve on the 2021 Review Panel for the Charles R. Bantz Community Fellowship and Scholar Awards.
The IUPUI campus and Indianapolis community IUPUI established the Charles R. Bantz Chancellor’s Community Fellowship in 2015 in recognition of former Chancellor Bantz's leadership and contributions to the campus and Indianapolis community. It includes two awards: the Charles R. Bantz Community Fellowship Award and the Charles R. Bantz Community Scholar Award. The awards are funded through charitable gifts and campus funding. Both awards are further supported by the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Office of Community Engagement, and Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research.
Professor Edwards is the Carl M. Gray Professor of Law at IU McKinney. He has been elected as Delegate to two Presidential National Conventions, and attended two others, and has worked on political campaigns at all levels, from local to the Presidential, including working at primaries and caucuses around the U.S., primarily on legal matters related to voter protection. He received Indiana University’s John W. Ryan Award for Distinguished Contributions to International Programs and Studies in January 2021, and the National Bar Association’s Sankofa Award in Summer 2020.
