IU McKinney Students Gear Up for Maryland Competition
01/10/2022
IU McKinney Law students Emily Sexson and Emarie Bees will compete in the University of Maryland Francis King Carey 11th Annual Health Law Regulatory & Compliance Competition in February.
The virtual competition, which will take place between February 18 and February 26, challenges students to navigate through the complex regulatory landscape of health care law, including compliance with health care regulations and FDA law.
The competition requires teams of two or three students to analyze a hypothetical fact pattern involving various interactions between health care stakeholders and entities participating in several health care activities that necessitate regulatory and compliance oversight. The fact pattern will implicate numerous health law practice areas and a variety of issues, including fraud and abuse and food and drug law.
“We are very excited to compete and represent IU McKinney,” Sexson said.
Teams have a short window in which to analyze the problem and present their findings and recommendations to a panel or panels of practicing regulatory and compliance attorneys. The winners and prize recipients will be announced during a virtual awards celebration on February 26.
