Alexandra Sumner, '19, Publishes Article Featuring Classmates in National Jurist
03/30/2022
Alexandra Sumner, ’19, published an article in the spring 2022 edition of National Jurist that features one of her ICLEO colleagues and IU McKinney classmate, Luis Hernandez, ’19.
In the article, The graduate’s guide to boosting your legal career, Hernandez discusses his career at Bose McKinney & Evans and how he makes the most of his associate memberships.
Sumner works as an assistant general counsel for Thriveworks, a mental healthcare company. In addition, she does freelance writing for GoodRx on various health law and data privacy topics, and does work as a project-based privacy consultant. She has written for The National Jurist since her 2L year at IU McKinney. During law school, she wrote about managing the law school experience, work-life balance, and the like. Now, Sumner finds herself writing about issues she’s encountered in the practice of law. Several current and future law students contacted her and she tries to craft pieces relevant to their concerns.
Both Sumner and Hernandez were ICLEO fellows. The ICLEO Summer Institute is an intense preparatory experience designed to help students become accustomed to what they will experience as law students. Once enrolled in an Indiana law school, ICLEO Fellows receive an annual education award to offset the costs of their law school tuition.
