Two IU McKinney alumni were named to the 2022 class of Best and Brightest: Barath S. Raman and Portia Bailey-Bernard. The event is hosted by Junior Achievement of Central Indiana.

Raman is a cum laude graduate of IU McKinney in 2014. Prior to entering law school, he worked as an engineer and his interactions with lawyers on the projects he worked on prompted him to explore a career in law. While at IU McKinney, he served as president of the Student Bar Association and was a driving force behind starting the job fair which has expanded to become the ACE it Forum. Raman was honored in the law category.

Bailey-Bernard is a summa cum laude graduate of IU McKinney in 2017. She began her legal career at Barnes & Thornburg before joining Kroger Gardis & Regas. She left private practice to become the vice president for Indianapolis economic development at Indy Chamber. She has served as a volunteer for Down But Not Out Communications, a social services organization, since 2009. In addition, she is a board member for the Catch the Stars Foundation. Bailey-Bernard was honored in the government category.
